Five Ways Young & Free Can Help J. Cole With Student Loan Debt

Hey young world,

Jermaine Cole is one of the brightest young stars in the world of hip hop and music. Better known as J. Cole, his music content can show you how severe of a problem the national student loan debt is in this country. Outside of being a successful rapper, Cole graduated Magna cum Laude with a major in communication and a minor in business from St. Johns University. If you have been following his music, you would understand his battles with Salle Mae. Well, sir Cole here are five ways Young & Free can help you with your student Loan debt.

In Dollard & Dream 2 Cole's dedicates his 3rd verse to Salle Mae:

"Ay Sallie, I know I ain't been answering your calls
But, let me explain- it's because times been hard
Been running around trying find a job
I hear my phone ringing in the morning, 9 o’clock
And it's you, can't even front I press ignore
I still got your letters laying in my dresser drawer
You telling me about all the things you did for me
When I was broke, you sent me dough and that was big for me
See you was there every year when I needed you
And you were so quick to give I had to be with you
Remember when I used to call you on your phone line
I knew it was official when my momma cosigned
But in no time I graduated
I hit the real world, baby girl I'm sad to say it
But I was using you, you gave major stacks
And I know in my heart one day that I'm gonna pay you back”

Tips From Young & Free - It is easy to see that Sir Cole was experiencing financial hardships during this period of his life. He might of qualified for a deferment, forbearance or loan cancellation during the periods of economic hardship.

Villematic

"With computers on hating on the newest song
While you was browsing I was taking out them student loans"

Tips From Young & Free - Instead of acknowledging the massive amount of slander, Cole could of done some browsing him self. He would came across numerous blog sites offering debt advice and tips. Such as The Project on Student Loan Debt

Cole World

"Ha !, bet it on black and pray, I quadruple my salary
If I win, maybe then I could pay Sallie Mae
Told her I be dealin' with some real-life stuff
She be askin' "when?", women! When I feel like it"

Tips From Young & Free - Being a Roc-Nation artist, you might want to ask Jay Z for some assistances. Some employers offer assistance with your student loans as part of a benefits package. Have a little contract renegotiation prior to the release of Born Sinner.

Blow Up

"Momma said I should reconsider law school
That means I wear a suit and bend the truth and feel awful
Hell naw, got a degree, but what that cost you?
You make a good salary just to pay Sally Mae"

Tips From Young & Free - Take the Jane Addams route and Start a charity or some type of social work. We all know Cole's appreciation for moms and students with loan debt. In many cases social workers receive assistance with loans or can get them absolved.

Head Bussa

"Okay, I'm back on a mission
To pay my tuition
Got loans out the a**
What you know 'bout my past?
I was so late for class"

Tips From Young & Free - Good job Jermaine, Kay would be proud! Sounds like you're now orchestrating a plan and have a positive attitude. You may not believe it but a good positive attitude can go a long way. Having a good payment plan is the right step to take according to Yahoo Finance.
