Thanksgiving Meals with Not Alotta Dough
Today's Thursday, which means Thanksgiving is in exactly two weeks. Gobble, gobble.
If you have some of the responsibility with preparing the Thanksgiving dinner, whether you're celebrating with your family, your friends, or your army of cats named Paula, Deen, Wolfgang, Puck, and Anthony Bourdain, most likely there will be a financial (among others!) cost to pay.
Budgeting In the Fun Stuff posted an article called 8 Ways to Save Some Dough on Thanksgiving Meals. I am here to regurgitate its most important points so you don't have to venture all the way over there!
- Buy food early. The good thing about Thanksgiving is that a lot of the things you'd need for the meal are non-perishable and can be bought weeks ahead of time. Being that Thanksgiving is two weeks away, now would be a good time to start. Like right now. Don't even finish reading this. Go!
- Put your family/friends to work. I wouldn't let good ol' Wolfgang take the lead on the stuffing, though. Cats are mischievous when it comes to that stuff.
- Use coupons/promotions. The holidays are ripe for coupons and promotions, so check the local paper for some, or if you don't know what that is, check out couponsuzy.com.
- Decorate on the cheap. If you feel you must decorate, dollar stores and stores like Big Lots typically have good decorations for cheap prices. Half the time, your guests won't even know the difference!
Here's to a happy and cheap Thanksgiving!
Keep cool my babies!
